I'm currently a PhD student studying aggressive behaviour in the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster. During my studies, I began sketching cartoons of this fascinating little insect. I found that, through art, I could capture the day-to-day highs and lows of scientific research, and create light-hearted images that my colleagues could relate to.

I then began to develop my sketches further, producing greetings cards and merchandise, My cartoons help me to communicate science, express the emotions involved in studying for a PhD, and affirm my love for fruit flies.

I hope that other scientists and non-scientists alike can find joy in my designs.
